🎬 PART 2: One word from his youngest son changed his entire life in a split second.

Andrew took a sharp step back, his voice dropping to a panicked whisper. “No… you’re dead.” The maid’s face completely crumpled at his words. “That is simply what they led you to believe,” she wept. The woman dressed in blue shook her head violently, her voice rising in desperation. “She’s lying! She’s mentally ill, Andrew. She saw your immense grief and just copied everything to trick you!”

Suddenly, the older boy screamed at the top of his lungs, “Stop it! You always say that whenever someone mentions her!”

Andrew turned slowly to face his fiancé, the word catching in his throat. “Always?”

With trembling fingers, the maid reached deep into her apron pocket and pulled out a tarnished, burnt silver necklace. Hanging from the chain was Andrew’s own wedding ring—the exact ring he had personally placed inside his wife’s coffin before it was closed.

His knees nearly gave out beneath him. “How… how do you have that?” he choked out.

Clutching the necklace tightly to her chest, she looked him in the eyes. “Because I woke up before they could bury me.”

The entire dining room fell into a deathly silence. The woman in blue instinctively began backing away toward the door as the maid’s voice trembled with painful memories. “I remembered smoke. I remembered screaming. Then, I woke up in a hospital room with no name and no family. The moment my memory finally returned, I came straight here.”

Tears streamed down Andrew’s face. “And you came back to your own home as a maid?”

“I tried so hard to see you at the front gate,” she cried out, her heart breaking. “But she told security I was dangerous and had me turned away.”

The woman in blue snapped defensively, “I did what I had to do! I protected this family!”

The maid looked at her through a veil of tears, exposing the truth. “No. You didn't protect this family. You protected your upcoming wedding.”

Andrew stared in absolute horror at the woman he had planned to marry. “You knew? You knew all along?”

She said absolutely nothing. And that devastating silence destroyed him completely.
