Chapter 1 : "Does she know something?" The question that haunts the silence of the room.

Chapter 1 : The Aftermath of Deceit

The silence after the crash was heavier than the violence that preceded it. Julian, his face a mask of controlled rage, didn't move toward the woman in red, Elena. He remained knelt by Sarah, his hands hovering over her shoulders, terrified to touch her as if she were made of porcelain. Elena stood by the shattered opening, her gold heels crunching on glass, her breath ragged. She looked not like a triumphant antagonist, but like a creature cornered by her own insanity.

"You think this is over because you have footage?" Elena spat, her voice vibrating with a dangerous, brittle edge. She stepped forward, ignoring the shards that sliced into the silk of her dress. "You have no idea what is coming, Julian. That baby is the only thing keeping you tethered to this farce. Once that’s gone, you’ll see her for what she really is."

Sarah let out a sharp, involuntary sob, pulling her knees tighter to her chest. Her face was pale, reflecting the cold, sterile glow of the room. Julian’s eyes flicked up to meet Elena’s, and the look in them wasn't anger anymore—it was a cold, calculated disdain that seemed to strip Elena of her remaining confidence. He stood up slowly, a monolith of protective shadow, blocking Elena’s view of his wife.

"Leave," Julian commanded, his voice deathly quiet. It was the sound of a man who had already decided on a fate far worse than a physical confrontation. "If you take another step toward her, the police won't be the ones you have to worry about. The security team has already been alerted, and they have clear instructions for anyone threatening this family."

Elena laughed, a hollow sound that bounced off the high ceilings. "Family? You call this a family? She’s a placeholder, Julian. And you’re just playing house to soothe your own ego." She looked down at the floor, where Sarah lay shivering. "Enjoy the wreckage. You earned it." With a final, venomous glare, Elena turned and walked toward the heavy oak doors, her silhouette sharp and unforgiving against the backdrop of the night.

Julian didn't watch her leave. He knelt again, this time closing the distance between him and Sarah. "Sarah, look at me," he whispered, his tone transforming into a soft, desperate melody. He reached out to brush a stray lock of hair from her tear-streaked face. "Everything is recorded. She can never come near you again. The security footage… it’s our insurance. She just handed us the keys to our freedom."

Sarah looked up, her eyes wide with lingering terror. "She said it was all a lie, Julian. Is it? Does she know something?" She grasped his hand, her knuckles white. The weight of the evening—the physical assault, the chilling words—pressed down on the room. Julian held her gaze, his expression unyielding. He knew the secrets behind their marriage were complex, but he knew one truth for certain: tonight, everything had changed.
