Chapter 2 : The Heart of the Scion

"What is the meaning of this, Mother? You’re ruining the most important day of my life!" Nathan yelled, his face flushing crimson as he tried to pull his torn white jacket together. The church was dead silent, the flickering candles casting long, eerie shadows across the altar.

"You are not my son's mother!" the old woman sobbed, her tears streaking her grey makeup as her fingers trembled against his chest. "My real son has a heart-shaped birthmark right over his chest, but he was stolen from me in the hospital twenty-four years ago."

The bride dropped her white rose bouquet, the petals scattering across the polished wooden floor like drops of snow. Her eyes widened in horror as she stared at the vivid red mark exposed on Nathan's pale skin. "Nathan... what is she talking about? Who are you?"

Before Nathan could speak, a heavy, leather-bound folder slipped from the old woman’s grip, hitting the altar step with a dull thud. The bold gold lettering on the cover read Charlin Panthan: The Migration for Identity Recognition Documents. The true legacy was finally uncovered.

"This crazy old woman has lost her mind!" Nathan shouted, backing away from the altar, his boots clicking loudly against the marble. "I am Nathan Vance, the sole heir to the Vance estate! Security, get this trespassing lunatic out of my wedding right now!"

But the security guards didn't move an inch, their eyes fixed on the back of the church where a tall man stood. He was dressed in a simple, worn leather jacket, but his face was an exact mirror image of the man standing at the altar.

"She isn't crazy, impostor," the stranger called out, his deep voice echoing powerfully through the high rafters of the holy chapel. He walked slowly down the aisle, his eyes locked onto Nathan with a lethal intensity that made the entire congregation gasp.

"I am the real Nathan, and that folder contains the official DNA records proving your birth parents traded us for money," the stranger declared. He stopped just a few feet away, pulling back his collar to reveal an identical heart-shaped birthmark on his chest.

The bride staggered backward, her lace veil catching on a copper candle holder as her world completely turned upside down. "Two of you? This can't be happening... we were supposed to get married today!" she screamed, her voice cracking with deep betrayal.

"The marriage is a fraud, Clara," the elderly woman said, her voice turning icy cold as she picked up the document folder. "This man under the white suit is actually Charlin Panthan, an international con artist hired to steal our family's fortune."

Charlin's aristocratic facade completely shattered, his eyes darting frantically toward the stained-glass windows, looking for a desperate way to escape. He reached into his pocket, but before his hand could find his weapon, the stranger grabbed his arm.

"Don't even try it, Charlin," the stranger growled, twisting the impostor's wrist behind his back with a force that made him drop to his knees. The secret documents were handed directly to the police officers who had just entered the church vestibule.

"You think you’ve won, but the Vance empire is already bankrupt!" Charlin sneered, laughing maniacally as the cold iron handcuffs clicked around his wrists. "I transferred the final offshore funds into my accounts ten minutes before walking down this aisle!"

"Actually, the bank flagged your unauthorized transaction hours ago, Mr. Panthan," the leading police officer stated, pulling him up roughly. "Your accounts have been completely frozen, and your accomplices at the hospital have already confessed everything to the federal authorities."

As the officers dragged the screaming fraudster down the candle-lit aisle, the real Nathan walked up to his tearful mother. He wrapped his strong arms around her fragile shoulders, whispering words of comfort that she had waited decades to hear.

Clara looked at the man she was supposed to marry, then at the true heir standing before her with dignity. The chaotic wedding had ended in ruins, but a historic injustice had finally been corrected under the watchful eyes of the sanctuary.
