Chapter 2: The Crimson Conspiracy
"She didn't fall, Mother. She was pushed," Detective Julian Vance declared, his voice cutting through the sterile hospital corridor like a sharpened blade.
Lady Catherine’s eyes widened in brief panic before she quickly masked it with her cold, aristocratic composure.
"Don't be ridiculous, Julian. The girl was clumsy, carrying a child she shouldn't even have," she hissed softly.

Julian stepped closer, flashing his silver badge with an intensity that made the surrounding guards look away in fear.
"The security footage from the grand hall was erased exactly three minutes before her tragic plunge," he whispered dangerously.
A heavy, suffocating silence fell between them as the distant, rhythmic beep of the life support machine echoed.
Suddenly, the operating room doors swung open, and a pale doctor emerged, his hands trembling with nervous energy.
"Detective, the mother is stable, but we discovered a highly toxic substance in her blood test results," he stammered.
Julian’s jaw clenched tightly as he slowly turned his gaze back to his mother’s pristine, pearl-adorned neck.
"It seems someone wanted to ensure neither she nor the rightful heir would ever survive to see tomorrow," Julian growled.
Lady Catherine scoffed, adjusting her black velvet sleeve, though a bead of cold sweat betrayed her calm facade.
"Accusations without solid proof are merely fairy tales, my dear boy. Who would believe a nameless girl over me?"
"I have the proof right here," a raspy voice suddenly called out from the dark end of the hallway.
Both turned to see the family’s loyal butler, holding a shattered crystal glass stained with dark, suspicious residue.
"She ordered me to spike the tea, Detective," the old man confessed, his voice breaking with deep regret.
"You fool!" Catherine shrieked, her mask completely shattering as Julian pulled out a pair of cold iron handcuffs.

"Your reign of terror ends tonight, Mother. Take her away and secure the room," Julian ordered the officers.
As they dragged her screaming down the hall, Julian walked into the room, swearing to protect the newborn child.
