Chapter 7: The Mastermind Behind Julian

Chapter 7: The Mastermind Behind Julian

In a dark, secluded private booth at the rear of an underground club in the financial district, Julian Sterling sat opposite a man named Damon Vance.

Damon Vance was a notorious corporate raider—a ruthless, billionaire venture capitalist who specialized in stripping distressed companies of their assets and selling them off for massive profits. He was also the bitter rival of Arthur Ashford, having lost dozens of land battles to the Ashford Trust over the past thirty years.

"You screwed up, Sterling," Damon said, swirling his dark cognac glass. "You let a woman outsmart you, and now you've brought the feds to our doorstep."

"I still have the master architectural schematics for Azure Crown!" Julian pleaded desperately, leaning across the table, his eyes wild and sunken. "The sustainable ocean-energy blueprints Elena designed... they're worth hundreds of millions! Foreign developers in Dubai will pay anything for them!"

Damon studied Julian with cold contempt. "Those blueprints are protected by international copyright laws held by the Ashford Trust. If I touch them, Arthur Ashford will tie me up in litigation for a decade."

"Not if you buy them through a third-party shell company in Panama!" Julian insisted, grabbing Damon’s arm. "I just need twenty million dollars in cash and a private jet out of the country tonight! You get the schematics, and you can build a copy of Azure Crown in the Middle East!"

Damon remained quiet for a moment, calculating the profit margin. He hated Arthur Ashford with every fiber of his being. The thought of stealing the crown jewel of Elena’s architectural genius and rebuilding it overseas was deeply tempting.

"Thirty minutes," Damon said coldly, setting his glass down. "Hand over the encrypted flash drive containing the master schematics, and my pilot will take you to South America."

Julian reached into his inner jacket pocket, pulling out a sleek metallic drive. "It's all here. Every structural layout, every electrical bypass, every secret security access key."

What Julian didn't know was that every movement he made had been tracked since he left the auction house.

Across town, inside the high-tech command center of Ashford Tower, holographic monitors displayed real-time GPS tracking data linked to Julian’s phone.

Elena stood beside Noah Montgomery, watching the audio wave feeds captured by a directional microphone positioned outside the club.

"He's selling my blueprints to Damon Vance," Elena said softly, a heavy sigh escaping her lips. "After everything... he is willing to destroy the environmental safety of the island just to escape."

Noah turned to her, his expression fierce and protective. "Damon Vance is a dangerous man, Elena. He operates outside standard legal boundaries. If he gets those schematics, he will use them to sabotage the physical infrastructure of Azure Crown to force your father into a settlement."

"Then we go to the island tonight," Elena declared, her eyes burning with unshakeable resolve. "The primary server core containing the original master encryption key is inside the vault at Azure Crown. If Julian tries to use that flash drive to bypass the system, he will trigger a total lockdown."

Noah walked up to her, placing his hands firmly on her shoulders. His gaze was intense, filled with an emotion that went far beyond professional loyalty.

"I won't let you face them alone, Elena," Noah said softly, his voice deep and steady. "I spent nine years watching you waste your light on a man who didn't deserve you. I won't let anyone hurt you again."

Elena looked up into his eyes, feeling her breath catch. For years, she had felt isolated, carrying the weight of an empire on her shoulders. For the first time, she felt a true partner standing beside her—not behind her, not in front of her, but right by her side.

"Then let's finish this together, Noah," she whispered.
