CHAPTER 6 : THE FINAL BROADCAST

CHAPTER 6 : THE FINAL BROADCAST
The Zenith Gala was a breathtaking display of unimaginable wealth and corporate power. Held in the grand atrium of the city's modern art museum, international dignitaries, defense ministers, and billionaire CEOs mingled under towering glass ceilings, sipping champagne while discussing the future of global warfare.

Julian Thorne stood at the central podium, bathing in the spotlight. Behind him, a massive digital display showed the logo of Aegis Pharmaceuticals.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Thorne announced, his voice smooth and incredibly charismatic. "Tonight, we are not just stepping into the future. We are creating it. For years, the limitations of the human body have bottlenecked our progress. Today, I present to you the 'Ascension Protocol'—a biological enhancement that will redefine human potential."
The crowd murmured in awe, completely unaware of the blood, torture, and horrific crimes that had paved the way for Thorne’s presentation.
Suddenly, the lights in the grand atrium flickered violently. The smooth, corporate jazz playing over the speakers distorted into a harsh, digital screech, forcing the attendees to cover their ears.
The massive digital display behind Thorne glitched, the Aegis logo dissolving into static. When the image cleared, it didn't show corporate graphs. It showed the harrowing, undeniable footage of the subterranean holding cells, the terrified test subjects, and the detailed, signed orders authorizing human experimentation—all bearing Julian Thorne’s digital signature.
"What is the meaning of this? Turn it off!" Thorne shouted, his polished mask cracking in front of the world's most powerful leaders.
"I'm afraid technical support is currently unavailable, Julian."
The voice echoed through the museum's PA system, calm, powerful, and utterly terrifying. From the sweeping glass staircase descending into the atrium, Valerie emerged. She wore a sleek, elegant black evening gown that concealed her tactical gear, her glowing crimson eyes striking fear into the hearts of the corrupt elite.
Guards rushed forward, but Valerie moved with supernatural speed, weaving through the panicked crowd and neutralizing the security detail with effortless, non-lethal strikes before they could even draw their weapons. The dignitaries backed away, realizing that the 'super-soldier' Thorne was trying to sell them was standing right in front of them—and she was furious.
Valerie ascended the steps to the podium, staring down the man who had ordered her torment. Thorne backed away, his arrogance completely evaporating into pathetic cowardice.
"You can't do this!" Thorne hissed, frantically looking for an escape route. "I am untouchable! I own the politicians in this room!"
"You own nothing," Valerie declared, her voice projecting clearly over the microphone for the entire world to hear. "The files broadcasting behind you have already been sent to Interpol, the International Criminal Court, and every major global news network by Arthur Pendelton. Your accounts are frozen. Your empire is burning. The Apex Protocol is dead."

Right on cue, the heavy glass doors of the museum shattered as a massive coalition of federal agents, Interpol tactical teams, and state police stormed the gala. They had seen the irrefutable evidence. There were no bribes large enough to cover up a crime broadcasted to billions.

Officers swarmed the podium, aggressively placing Julian Thorne in heavy steel handcuffs and dragging the screaming, defeated CEO away from his ruined kingdom. The corporate titans who had eagerly listened to his pitch were now being detained for questioning, their empires crumbling under the weight of Valerie's absolute justice.
Valerie stood at the podium, looking out over the chaotic sea of flashing police lights and the dismantled syndicate. The heavy, suffocating weight she had carried since she was forced onto Elias’s operating table finally lifted from her shoulders. She had won.
