Chapter 6 - THE BLACK SITEThe damp, cold air of the Brooklyn shipyard black site clung to Julian’s skin. He hadn't slept in forty-eight hours. The rage radiating from him was palpable, a dark aura that made even his hardened mercenaries step back as he walked down the concrete corridor.

Victoria was strapped to a steel chair in the center of the interrogation room. She looked feral. Her makeup was smeared into a horrific mask, her expensive dress in tatters. When the heavy iron door opened, she flinched against the harsh light.

Julian stepped in, tossing the silver-handled dagger onto the metal table in front of her. Clang.

Victoria stared at it, her eyes widening in recognition. "No..." she whispered.

"You knew," Julian said softly. He didn't yell. The terrifying calm in his voice was infinitely worse. "You knew Alexander was alive. He’s the one who promised you half my assets. Marcus was just the middleman."

"Julian, please! He's a monster! He'll kill us all!" Victoria shrieked, struggling against the zip-ties.

"He has my son, Victoria." Julian leaned in close, his face inches from hers, his eyes hollow voids. "If you don't tell me exactly where his base of operations is within the next sixty seconds, I am going to let Maria practice her cartel interrogation techniques on you. And believe me, she is very creative."

Maria stepped from the shadows, a menacing array of surgical tools unrolling on the table. She didn't say a word, just picked up a scalpel with chilling nonchalance.

"Okay! Okay!" Victoria sobbed, breaking instantly. "He’s in Switzerland! The old family chalet in the Alps. It’s not just a cabin, Julian, he spent the last three years hollowing out the mountain. It’s a fortress!"

"Why?" Julian demanded. "Why go through the charade of faking his death? Why wait three years?"

"Because of the trust fund!" Victoria cried. "Your father's ironclad will! Alexander couldn't inherit the controlling shares if he was deemed mentally unfit! By faking his death, passing the company to you, and then proving you went insane after I killed your heir... the shares would legally revert to his secret shell corporation!"

Julian stood up straight, the twisted puzzle finally snapping into place. His brother was playing four-dimensional chess, treating human lives like disposable pawns.

"Keep her locked up," Julian ordered Maria. "Fuel the jet. We're going to Geneva."
