Chapter 5 : The Boardroom Blitz

Chapter 5 : The Boardroom Blitz
The Sterling Enterprises boardroom was a glass-enclosed fortress perched on the top floor of a towering Manhattan skyscraper. The atmosphere inside was tense, crackling with impending conflict. The twelve members of the board sat rigidly in their high-backed leather chairs, murmuring anxiously.

At the far end of the massive mahogany table sat Arthur Vance, looking smug and victorious. He leaned forward, steepling his fingers as the heavy oak doors swung open.
Daniel strode into the room, his presence instantly commanding the space. He didn't look like a man facing a scandal; he looked like an executioner. He took his seat at the head of the table, placing a sleek black folder in front of him.
"Let's skip the pleasantries," Daniel announced, his voice echoing off the glass walls. "Arthur, I believe you called this emergency meeting to propose a vote of no confidence regarding my leadership."
Arthur scoffed, standing up to assert dominance. "Look at the stock prices, Daniel! Look at the media circus! Your erratic behavior, this impending, messy divorce, and your bizarre obsession with protecting a deranged maid have made you a liability. You are unfit to lead. The board demands your immediate resignation to save this company's reputation."
A few board members nodded hesitantly, intimidated by Arthur's aggressive posturing.
Daniel didn't flinch. He slowly opened the black folder. "Reputation is a fragile thing, Arthur. Yours, for instance, is about to evaporate entirely."
Daniel slid a thick stack of documents down the polished table. They skidded to a halt perfectly in front of the board's chief financial officer.
"What is this?" Arthur demanded, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his arrogant face.
"Those, gentlemen, are offshore banking ledgers," Daniel explained calmly, leaning back in his chair. "For the past five years, Arthur has been secretly siphoning company funds through dummy construction contracts meant for our overseas expansion. He used that stolen money to inflate his own real estate portfolio and, most recently, to bribe a network of journalists and witnesses to defame Maya and myself."
The boardroom erupted into chaos. The CFO rapidly flipped through the pages, his face draining of color. "These... these wire transfers trace directly back to Arthur's personal holding companies in the Caymans. This is irrefutable proof of corporate embezzlement."
"This is a forgery!" Arthur bellowed, slamming his fist on the table, sweat beading on his forehead. "He fabricated this to distract from his own scandal!"
"The FBI didn't think it was a forgery when I handed them the original drives this morning," Daniel countered, his voice cutting through the shouting like a blade. "In fact, federal agents are currently raiding your corporate offices, Arthur. You aren't just being removed from this board today. You are going to federal prison."
As if on cue, the glass doors to the boardroom opened, and three men in dark suits bearing federal badges stepped inside. "Arthur Vance? We have a warrant for your arrest."
Arthur froze, his arrogant facade utterly shattering. He looked at Daniel with pure, unadulterated hatred as the agents approached him. "You ruined my family over a nobody!" he hissed, as handcuffs were snapped onto his wrists.
"She is a human being," Daniel corrected coldly, staring the broken tycoon dead in the eye. "And you and your daughter are parasites. Get him out of my boardroom."

As Arthur was hauled away, Daniel turned his steely gaze back to the stunned, silent board members. "If anyone else has concerns about my leadership, I suggest you speak now. Otherwise, we have a company to run."
No one said a word. Daniel had just violently amputated a rotting limb from his empire, securing his throne and entirely disarming Vanessa's biggest source of power and funding. The stage was now set for the final, most important battle.
