Chapter 5 : The Internal Siege

Chapter 5 : The Internal Siege
The final confrontation wasn't in a courtroom, but in the heart of the mansion. Arthur, realizing he had lost the public battle, decided to reclaim his home through sheer force of will. He arrived at midnight, bypassing the guards who had been instructed to stand down by the board of directors.

He found the three women in the grand hall. He was disheveled, his composure finally broken. "I built this life!" he roared, pacing the floor. "I gave you everything! You are nothing without me!"
"You gave us nothing but a gilded prison," Eleanor stood her ground, her voice steady as iron. "And the 'everything' you claim to have built is a house of cards. The auditors are already inside the books, Arthur. You aren't losing your home; you are losing your immunity."

Arthur lunged toward the table where the main laptop was kept—the server that contained all his remaining digital leverage. He grabbed it, his face twisted in a mask of desperation. But he hadn't accounted for the change in the home's security. As he tried to exit, the doors locked automatically, programmed to seal him in until the legal authorities arrived.
The drama was at its peak. The sirens could be heard in the distance. Arthur looked at his mother, his wife, and his grandmother—three generations of women he had sought to control, now united in their resolve to see him face the consequences. He realized, with a horrifying clarity, that he was the only one in the room who was truly alone. He had treated everyone as a pawn, and now, he had no pieces left to play.
