Chapter 9 — The Eviction of the Parasites

The downfall came swift and mercilessly.

Within forty-eight hours of the gala, news of Jasper Lawson’s corporate fraud and shocking cruelty toward his wife went viral across national news outlets and social media platforms. The public outrage was immediate. Hashtags calling for justice for Hailey trended globally, turning the Lawson name into a synonym for greed and emotional abuse.

At the small, rented apartment, chaos broke out.

"This is all your fault, Jasper!" Priscilla screamed, throwing her handbag against the wall. "My friends won't return my calls! My credit cards are canceled! The designer boutiques have banned me from entering!"

"My fault?" Jasper yelled back, his hair messy and eyes bloodshot. "You and Mom were the ones who demanded I spend company money on your jewelry, your vacations, your luxury cars! I did all of it to keep you happy!"

"You did it because you were arrogant, Jasper!" Gillian sobbed, sitting on a worn fabric sofa. "You thought you were invincible! And now we have nothing!"

A loud, authoritative knock sounded at the door.

Jasper opened it, expecting another process server. Instead, two men in dark uniforms stood outside alongside an official from the City Sheriff's Department.

"Jasper Lawson, Gillian Lawson, and Priscilla Lawson?" the officer asked.

"What now?" Jasper groaned.

"We are here to execute an immediate Asset Seizure Order issued by the State Circuit Court," the officer declared, pushing past them into the apartment. "All personal property purchased using funds originating from Robertson Global accounts is subject to immediate repossession."

Two movers stepped into the room and began systematically tagging everything—Priscilla’s designer handbags, Gillian’s fur coats, Jasper’s luxury watches, even the high-end television resting on the stand.

"You can't take my bags!" Priscilla shrieked, grabbing a luxury leather tote bag. "This is mine!"

"Ma'am, release the bag or you will be arrested for obstructing court enforcement," the officer said firmly.

Priscilla burst into hysterical tears, dropping the bag as the movers packed it into a crate.

"Where are we supposed to go?" Gillian wept, clutching her hands together. "We don't have enough money for next month's rent!"

The officer handed Jasper a legal summons. "I suggest you contact a legal defense attorney, Mr. Lawson. Your preliminary arraignment for corporate financial fraud is set for Monday morning at 9:00 AM."

As the officers and movers cleared out the apartment, leaving them with nothing but basic, cheap clothing and their luggage, Jasper sank down onto the bare floor.

He looked at his mother and sister, who were now arguing bitterly with each other, blaming one another for their ruin.

For the first time in his life, Jasper realized the horrifying reality of what he had thrown away. He hadn't just lost wealth and power; he had destroyed the only true, unconditional love he had ever known—all for the sake of shallow pride and ungrateful parasites.
