Chapter 5: A New Reign

The final blow to Regina’s pride was delivered not with violence, but with absolute justice. As security guards firmly escorted the weeping, humiliated former executive off her own showroom floor—her white suit now stained with the dust of the carpet she had forced others to clean—the crowd turned their backs on her completely. Regina was permanently ruined, her name blacklisted from the industry forever.
Arthur Sterling turned to Maya, a respectful smile breaking across his face. He picked up one of the torn charcoal sketches from the floor, smoothing out the crease.
"You have a rare gift, young lady," Arthur said. "An artist who can look at chaos and create perfection in three seconds is someone who doesn't belong on the cleaning staff. Vanguard needs a new Creative Director. Someone with soul. Someone with undeniable talent. The position comes with a global contract, your own design team, and total creative freedom. Will you accept?"
Maya looked at the torn pages of her book, then at Evelyn, who gave her an encouraging nod. For the first time all night, a warm, radiant smile broke across Maya's face.
"I accept," Maya said clearly. "But on one condition. I want my first official collection to be dedicated to the invisible workers of this industry. The ones who clean, the ones who sew in the dark, and the ones whose voices are often silenced by people like Regina."
"Granted," Arthur smiled.
One year later.
The Vanguard flagship showroom was packed once again, but the energy was entirely different. There were no shouts of fear, no passive cruelty, and no toxic arrogance. The atmosphere was inclusive, electric, and genuinely celebratory.

Maya stood at the exact same apex of the room where she had once been degraded. She was no longer wearing a faded grey uniform; she wore an elegant, structured suit of her own design. Tonight was the launch of her debut collection, titled Resilience.
