The old man murmured right before breaking the biker's fist and unleashing an unnatural, terrifying power inside the neon-lit diner.

Chapter 2: The Neon Reckoning

"Put your hands where I can see them, old man," the biker croaked, his voice cutting through the sudden, suffocating silence of the diner. His leather jacket creaked as he struggled to breathe, his heavy boots hovering inches above the checkered floor. The iron grip around his throat belonged to someone who didn't look capable of crushing steel.

The waitress scrambled backward, her tray clattering against the jukebox as she stared in absolute disbelief. The frail, elderly man who had been quietly eating his pie a moment ago was now holding a two-hundred-pound outlaw in the air with a single hand. No one in the neon-lit diner dared to move an inch.

"I warned you nicely, son," the old man murmured, his icy blue eyes fixed on the gasping gang leader. The three bikers at the table froze, their arrogant laughter dying instantly in their throats. Their hands slowly drifted toward the heavy iron wrenches and hidden knives tucked away inside their dirty leather vests.

"Drop him or you're a dead man!" the largest biker yelled, slamming his fists onto the table. He lunged forward, throwing a vicious punch directly at the old man's unprotected temple. But before the fist could even connect, a strange, low-frequency hum vibrated through the air, causing the diner's neon signs to flicker wildly.

With a swift, blinding movement, the old man threw the leader across the room, smashing him through a wooden booth. He turned effortlessly, catching the second biker's fist mid-air with his other hand. The sound of fracturing bones echoed sharply through the small diner, followed by a piercing scream of pure agony.

"Who the hell are you?" the waitress whispered, her hands shaking violently as she huddled behind the counter. She had worked at this remote highway pitstop for three long years, but she had never seen anything like this. This wasn't a normal bar fight; this was a display of unnatural, terrifying power.

The old man didn't answer right away, his breathing perfectly calm as he stepped over the groaning outlaws. He adjusted his flannel shirt and looked out the foggy glass windows into the pitch-black night. "They followed me from Sector Four, kid. You need to lock those doors before the rest of them arrive."

Outside, the distant, synchronized roar of dozens of heavy motorcycle engines began to shake the very foundations of the building. Headlights pierced through the thick midnight fog, casting long, menacing shadows across the gravel parking lot. The real hunt had finally found its target, and the diner was completely surrounded by the pack.

The bleeding leader struggled to his feet, coughing up dark crimson onto his torn leather vest. He stared at the old man with a mixture of intense hatred and genuine terror. "You can't hide from the Syndicate forever, Subject Prime. The Commander wants his weapon back, dead or alive."

Subject Prime simply smiled, a cold, knowing expression that made the remaining bikers back away toward the exit. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, glowing silver cylinder, its energy pulsating rhythmically. "Tell your Commander that the weapon learned how to fight back a long time ago."
