Clara rested her head against his shoulder, looking out at the calm, shimmering lake where swans glided peacefully across the water.
"My father would be so proud, Julian," she whispered softly. "You restored his name. You restored our family's honor."
"We did it together, Clara," Julian said softly, pressing a kiss to her temple. "Truth and love always find a way through the dark if you're brave enough to stand together."
Clara smiled, taking his hand and gently guiding it down to rest against her waist, where a subtle, beautiful curve was now visible beneath her dress.
