Full Story : The ghost has a name, a scar, and a vendetta.

The tension in the shopping center lobby was suffocating. Leo stared at the dog tag, his pulse hammering against his temples. "DANY," the letters mocked him, engraved in cold steel, matching the jagged ink on his own forearm. The world tilted. The woman in the maroon dress—Dany’s mother, he now realized—stared at them with a mixture of confusion and growing hostility. Time seemed to freeze, trapped in the crushing weight of a secret long buried.

"Where did you get this?" Leo demanded, his voice a low, dangerous rasp. The girl on the floor, her eyes brimming with tears, looked up at him in sheer terror. She reached out with a trembling hand, trying to reclaim the necklace, but Leo didn't move. He needed the truth. He needed to know if the ghost that had haunted his dreams for the last five years was standing—or rather, crawling—right in front of him.

"Give it back!" the mother shouted, stepping forward, her heels clicking aggressively against the polished tile. She loomed over them, a picture of polished indifference. "You have no right to touch her, you freak! You're nothing but a stranger in a mall." She didn't see the matching mark on his arm. She didn't see the recognition burning behind his eyes. She only saw a threat to her perfect, controlled life.

Leo ignored her, his focus locked entirely on the girl. "Listen to me," he whispered, leaning closer, disregarding the gasps of the onlookers gathering in a tight circle. "This necklace... this name... it wasn't just a random souvenir, was it?" The girl’s breathing hitched, a sharp, ragged sound that cut through the silence of the lobby. She looked at his arm, then back at his face, and her expression shifted from fear to profound, devastating shock.

"It's from the summer house," she barely breathed, the words so soft they were almost lost in the ambient hum of the mall. The mother’s face drained of color, her haughty posture momentarily faltering. The secret was out, crawling out into the open air like an exposed nerve. Leo felt a surge of rage and relief, the two emotions warring for dominance. This was only the beginning of the end.
