CHAPTER 28: UNITING THE GLOBE

The culmination of Evelyn’s legal career occurred at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City. Representatives from all 193 member states gathered for a historic vote on the Vance Global Child Security Treaty.
The treaty, drafted by Evelyn and her legal team, mandated strict, unbypassable corporate liability laws, transparent supply-chain audits, and universal legal representation for exploited children worldwide.
As the voting board lit up green across every single country on the wall, the General Assembly exploded into resounding applause.
The President of the General Assembly banged the gavel down. "The Vance Global Child Security Treaty is hereby passed unanimously into international law!"
Evelyn stood at the central podium, surrounded by global leaders. As she looked out at the assembly, she didn't just see politicians and diplomats; she saw a united humanity taking a solemn, permanent pledge to protect its most vulnerable children for generations to come.
When she walked off the stage, Marcus was waiting in the wings. He pulled her into a warm, passionate embrace, lifting her slightly off her feet.

"You did it, Evelyn," Marcus whispered against her hair. "You changed the destiny of the world."
"We did it for Lily," Evelyn answered softly. "And for every child who ever prayed for dawn in the middle of the night."
