Chapter 16 - Aurora
Mia's daughter was born on a rainy spring morning.
Victoria stood outside the delivery room.
She had negotiated billion-dollar deals without blinking.
Now she couldn't stop pacing.
A nurse finally opened the door.
"You can come in."
Victoria entered.
Mia was exhausted.
But smiling.
In her arms was a tiny baby girl.
Victoria approached slowly.
"She's beautiful."
Mia laughed.
"You haven't even held her."
"I know."
Mia handed the baby over.
Victoria stared down.
The child opened her eyes.
Victoria's heart melted.
"What are you naming her?"
Mia looked toward Evelyn.
Then toward Victoria.
"Aurora."
Victoria smiled through tears.
"Because every dark night ends."
Mia nodded.
"And every family gets a chance to begin again."
Outside, the storm finally passed.
