Vanessa's face turned ash-white as her eyes locked onto the red lens of the security camera above. The fake tears dried instantly on her cheeks, replaced by a cold, suffocating terror. The mansion’s high-tech security system was directly linked to Lucas’s phone, streaming every angle in real-time.
"Lucas, please... you have to listen to me!" Vanessa stammered, her voice cracking as she scrambled backward on her knees. "I didn't mean to! She provoked me, she threatened to ruin us!" But Lucas ignored her desperate pleas, stepping past her to kneel beside the injured pregnant woman on the floor.
"Elena, stay with me! Open your eyes, please!" Lucas choked out, his hands trembling as he gently cradled her head. Elena groaned softly in pain, clutching her abdomen tightly. Without looking up, Lucas pulled out his phone, playing back the crystal-clear footage that caught Vanessa’s deliberate kick on camera.
"I saw every second of it live on my watch before I stepped through those doors," Lucas said, his voice dropping into an ice-cold, deadly tone. "You didn't just attack my wife, Vanessa. You tried to murder my unborn child."
Outside, the distant wail of approaching sirens pierced the silence of the estate. Lucas had already pressed the silent emergency alarm the moment he saw the live feed on his phone. Panicking, Vanessa leaped to her feet to flee toward the patio, but two armed security guards burst in, blocking her path.
Paramedics swarmed the marble foyer within minutes, carefully stabilizing Elena on a stretcher while monitoring the baby's heartbeat. "Her vitals are stable, sir, but we need to move her to the hospital immediately," the lead medic urged. Lucas held Elena’s hand tightly, whispering promises of love and safety as they wheeled her out.
Meanwhile, police officers forced a hysterical Vanessa onto her knees, slapping heavy steel handcuffs around her wrists. "You can't do this to me! I belong here!" she screamed, her glamorous dress dragging across the floor as she was escorted out into the harsh glare of flashing police lights.

At the hospital, hours felt like an eternity as Lucas paced the waiting room hallway in agonizing suspense. Finally, the lead surgeon stepped out, pulling off his mask with a warm, reassuring smile. "They are both out of danger, Mr. Vance. Your wife and child are going to be completely fine."
Tears of profound relief flooded Lucas's eyes as he rushed into the recovery room. Holding Elena in his arms, he felt the faint, miraculous kick of their baby against his hand. Justice had prevailed, and the dark shadow that tried to destroy their family was finally gone forever.
