Chapter 19 - The Fall of an Empire

The scene on the mountain highway dissolved into absolute chaos.

Federal tactical officers rappelled down from the hovering helicopters directly onto the road, disarming Victor Vane's mercenaries before a single shot could be fired. The sheer overwhelming force of the international task force crushed any remaining resistance in seconds.

Victor Vane stood frozen on the asphalt as heavy steel handcuffs were slapped onto his wrists. As he was being forced toward a federal transport vehicle, he turned his head, looking down into the ravine one last time.

Grant stood in the snow, his arms wrapped around Clara and Lily, with Emma and Marcus standing firmly beside them.

For the first time in his life, the ruthless corporate tycoon Victor Vane had been completely outplayed—not by a rival billionaire, but by the love and resilience of the family he had tried to destroy.

An hour later, inside a warm, heated federal command bus parked along the highway, medical personnel tended to Grant’s minor injuries while Clara sat wrapped in a heavy blanket, drinking hot tea.

Lily was sitting on Grant’s lap, fast asleep, exhausted from the harrowing ordeal, but her face was finally peaceful. The terror that had haunted her eyes for two dark years was completely gone.

Federal Prosecutor Sarah Lin walked into the bus, holding a digital tablet. "Mr. Callahan, Mrs. Callahan. The evidence on the drive Lily preserved is overwhelming. Over forty high-ranking executives, including Julian Vane and Renata Vance, have already been arrested in coordinated raids across New York, London, and Zurich."

Grant looked at his wife, taking her hand. "Is it finally over?"

"The Vane Syndicate is completely dismantled," Prosecutor Lin confirmed with a warm smile. "You're all going home."
