Chapter 12 - THE PROSECUTOR Eleanor Price listened to the entire story without interrupting.

She examined the ledger.
Then the photographs.
Then the payment records.
When she reached the page connected to the fire, she closed her eyes.
"I knew Lorenzo."
Isabella looked at her.
"You knew my father?"
"Yes."
Eleanor revealed that Lorenzo had planned to expose Silas twenty years earlier.
He had prepared evidence.
But someone betrayed him.
"Who?"
Eleanor looked toward the ledger.
"Your father's closest financial adviser."
A name.
Marcus Vale.
Dead for eighteen years.
Except Marcus had left behind a son.
Jonathan Vale.
And Jonathan now worked for Silas.
The conspiracy was larger than anyone imagined.
Eleanor made a decision.
"We're going public."
Mateo shook his head.
"Not yet."
"Why?"
"Because Silas still has people inside federal agencies."
Eleanor looked at him.
"Then we force him into the open."
The plan was simple.
Release enough evidence to scare him.
Not enough to destroy him.
Then watch who reacted.
They leaked one document.
Within hours, three officials resigned.
One disappeared.
Another tried to flee the country.
And a third called Silas.
They had found the network.

But Silas knew they were coming.
And he was preparing his final move.
