Chapter 4 - VAULT 777 Geneva greeted them with freezing air and gray skies.

Three armored vehicles waited on the runway.
The convoy moved through the city without stopping.
Isabella watched Switzerland pass behind tinted glass.
Everything felt unreal.
She was wearing Mateo's cashmere clothes.
A security team surrounded her.
A private jet waited behind them.
Yesterday, she had been carrying dirty towels.
Today, she was traveling toward a vault containing the Valerius fortune.
The bank looked nothing like the institutions she had imagined.
There were no signs.
No crowds.
Only stone walls and enormous brass doors.
A distinguished banker named Laurent met them.
When he saw Isabella, his expression changed.
"My God."
He studied her face.
"You have Katerina's eyes."
Isabella's breath caught.
They descended underground.
Deep underground.
The elevator seemed to descend forever.
Finally, they reached a circular steel door.
VAULT 777.
Laurent explained the security protocol.
The silver key.
The biometric scan.
The blood verification.
Isabella's hand trembled as she inserted the key.
A tiny needle pierced her finger.
The machine scanned her DNA.
A green light appeared.
MATCH CONFIRMED.
VALERIUS, ISABELLA.
The door opened.
Inside were deeds.
Bonds.
Photographs.
Documents.
But Isabella barely noticed them.
In the center sat a mahogany box.
Inside were photographs of her parents.
And an envelope.
FOR ISABELLA.
Her hands shook as she opened it.
Katerina's letter explained everything.
Silas Thorne had not built his fortune honestly.
He had stolen from the Valerius empire.
Worse, he had built an enormous criminal network around legitimate companies.
The ledger contained the proof.
Every payment.
Every hidden account.
Every politician.
Every betrayal.
Isabella stared at the leather book.
"This can destroy him."
Mateo nodded.
"If we survive long enough to expose it."
His phone suddenly rang.
He answered.
His face changed.
"What's wrong?"
Mateo looked toward the elevator.
"They breached the upper levels."
Isabella froze.
"Who?"
"Silas's men."
Mateo drew his weapon.
"They're not here for the money."
May you like
He looked at the ledger.
"They're here for you."
