Tommy walked between them, holding Mia’s hand on his right and Victor’s on his left, swinging his feet over the foam of the gentle incoming waves.
"Look, Mommy!" Tommy pointed up at the sky. "The sky is wearing a crown!"
Mia looked up at the golden clouds, then turned to look at Victor. He looked down at her, his eyes filled with endless devotion, holding her hand tightly.
The shattered pearl, the forged papers, the dark vaults beneath the city, and the deadly battles in the rain were all distant memories now. The darkness that had once threatened to consume her family had been utterly destroyed—replaced by an unbreakable bond forged in courage, sacrifice, and eternal love.
