Charlotte stared at the number.

Dana's voice softened.

"That was hers."

Some had gone into Brandon's hidden account.
Some went to Hailey's company.

One payment:
$22,000.
Another:
$7,500 to Bell & Ramos Architecture.
Charlotte's daughter's education money had helped fund the renovation of the house they planned to steal.
Then Detective Morales arrived.
He placed another document on the table.

Skylar Anne Whitaker.
Charlotte stopped breathing.
"She's eleven."
"I know."
Someone had used Skylar's Social Security number and altered her birth date to make her appear eighteen.
Charlotte walked into the hallway.
She couldn't let Skylar see her face.
Morales followed.
"I want them arrested."
"We need evidence."
"Then find it."
He nodded.
"We are."
Charlotte looked back toward her daughter.
This was no longer about money.
