Chapter 12 - THE BOARDROOM WOLVES

While Richard pursued the physical evidence, David Harrison made his move on Wall Street.
At 9:00 AM on Monday morning, the emergency board meeting of Sterling Capital was convened on the 50th floor. David Harrison sat at the head of the long glass table, flanked by four senior board members whose debts he had secretly purchased over the weekend.
"Richard Sterling is mentally compromised," David announced to the room, sliding a thick legal file across the table. "His recent personal scandals, his public altercations, and his obsessive pursuit of baseless conspiracy theories have tanked our stock by twelve percent in seventy-two hours. Under Section 4 of our corporate bylaws, I am moving to strip him of his CEO title and suspend his voting rights immediately."
The board members looked at each other nervously.
"David," one older board member ventured, "Richard holds forty percent of the voting shares..."
"Which are currently frozen under court review due to the ongoing child welfare investigation regarding his estate," David lied smoothly, presenting a forged injunction paper. "We vote now, gentlemen. Before he destroys this firm completely."
The heavy double doors of the boardroom slammed open.

Richard walked in, flanked by two armed federal marshals and Vance, who carried a silver briefcase.
"The only thing being destroyed today, David," Richard said, his voice ringing through the silent boardroom, "is you."
