Chapter 16 - The Federal RaidAt 8:00 AM on Friday morning, five armored FBI vans pulled up to the glass headquarters of Harrington Enterprises in downtown Scottsdale.

Dozens of agents clad in navy blue jackets with yellow "FBI" lettering poured into the lobby, executing federal search warrants for bank fraud, wire fraud, structural conspiracy, and arson.
News helicopters hovered overhead, capturing live footage of federal agents hauling boxes of files, computer towers, and safe boxes out of the building.
On the front steps, Federal Prosecutor Elena Ruiz held an impromptu press conference.
"Today, federal authorities have executed arrests for Melissa, Callan, and Richard Harrington," Ruiz declared to a sea of microphones. "The Harrington empire was built on a foundation of systemic bribery, structural negligence, and criminal intimidation. That empire ends today."
Sitting in the passenger seat of my truck parked across the street, my father watched the television monitor mounted on the dash.
He wiped a hand across his tired eyes, letting out a long, shuddering breath.

I reached over, putting my hand over his calloused fingers. "Not quite yet, Dad. We still have one last thing to build."
