Chapter 14 - The Mole in the SyndicateMidnight struck. A blinding blizzard blanketed the Swiss fortress, lowering visibility to less than ten feet. Perfect cover for shadows.

Julian and Maria glided across the snow in dark white camouflage gear, using ice hooks to scale the vertical cliff behind the fortress where radar coverage was blind.
They breached the upper battlements seamlessly, dropping two guards in white snowsuits with silent knife strikes.
"I’m in the security mainframe room," Maria whispered over her comms, plugging a flash drive into the castle’s server bank. "I’m uploading a Trojan virus to Alexander’s financial accounts. In five minutes, every dollar he stole from Vance Global will be routed to an untraceable public charity fund."
"Good," Julian’s voice echoed through her earpiece as he swept the lower floor corridors. "I’m at the entrance to the inner sanctuary. Alexander is inside."
Inside the master study, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the snowy abyss, Alexander Vance sat in a leather armchair, frantically typing on a laptop. His arm was in a sling from Julian breaking it in Monaco, his scarred face twisted in desperation as his financial screens flashed red.
"What is happening to my funds?!" Alexander roared at his computer screen. "Stop the transfer!"
"I’m afraid I can't let you do that, brother," a cold voice spoke from the shadows.
Alexander froze. He turned his head slowly.
Julian walked into the study, pulling off his thermal night-vision mask. He looked like an vengeful specter risen from the grave.
Alexander reached for a red button on his desk to summon his guards, but a red laser dot appeared directly over his heart. Maria stepped into the room, locking her assault rifle onto him.
"Your guards are asleep, Alexander," Maria said coldly. "The local frequency is jammed. No one is coming."

Alexander sank back into his chair, a terrible, defeated laugh escaping his throat. "You really are relentless, Julian. You brought down my entire network for a boy who can't even speak yet."
"I brought down your network because you forgot what it means to be a Vance," Julian said, walking up to the desk. "You became a parasite."
