Accounts.
Evidence.
Photographs.
Audio recordings.
Everything.
Evelyn stared in horror.
“You can't.”
Daniel smiled.
“I already did.”

They raced through the basement tunnel.

Helicopters.
Daniel looked at Ruiz.
“You sent the files?”
Ruiz nodded.
“Every major network.”
Daniel exhaled.
Then the world exploded.
Not physically.
Digitally.
Phones began ringing everywhere.
News alerts appeared.
Bank accounts froze.
Politicians resigned.
Corporate executives disappeared.
The Mercer organization was exposed.
But one final question remained.
Who had survived?
Daniel returned to the hospital.
Dr. Miller was waiting.
He looked exhausted.
“I tried to save Chloe.”
“I know.”
Miller nodded.
“The implant is gone.”
Daniel touched his temple.
“I remember everything.”
Miller smiled.
“Then you understand.”
“Understand what?”
“You weren't their experiment.”
Daniel frowned.
“You were their undoing.”
Chloe entered the room.
Daniel looked at her.
She smiled.

Then Daniel's phone rang.
Unknown number.
He answered.
Silence.
Then a familiar voice.
His father's.
“Daniel.”
Daniel froze.
“That’s impossible.”
The voice laughed.
“I told you I'd leave you the key.”
Daniel stared at Chloe.
“Dad?”
The call ended.
A photograph arrived.
Daniel opened it.
His father was alive.
Standing beside a private jet.
Behind him—
a woman.
Daniel's mother.
And between them stood Marcus.
Alive.
Daniel's heart stopped.
The message underneath contained five words.
THE FIRST LEDGER IS MISSING.
Chloe looked at him.
“What does it mean?”
Daniel stared at the photograph.
“It means…”
