Chapter 17 - The Letter That evening, a letter arrived.

No return address.
My security team examined it.
Nothing dangerous.
Just paper.
I opened it.
Inside was a single photograph.
Sophia.
Standing beside a hospital bed.
Leo was an infant.
On the back of the photograph were six words:
“She knew the truth before she died.”
My blood ran cold.
Hannah saw my expression.
“What is it?”
I handed her the photograph.
She stared at it.
“What truth?”
“I don't know.”
But somewhere deep inside, I knew this wasn't finished.
Sophia had never told me everything.
There had always been pieces of her final days that didn't make sense.
The letter reopened questions I thought had been buried forever.
That night, I searched every old file.
Every photograph.
Every medical report.
Every message.
And I found something.
A hospital record dated three days before Sophia's death.
A name.
A doctor I had never heard of.
Dr. Adrian Vale.

And beside his name was a note:
“Do not tell Lorenzo.”
