Chapter 5 - THE SCHEDULE The deeper investigators went, the worse the pattern became.

The spreadsheet wasn't simply tracking events.
It was tracking me.
My flight times.
My estimated arrival.
Where Willa would sit.
Who would be present.
What subject might trigger me.
And whether I reacted.
There were entries for:
Christmas Eve.
A November dinner.
A January family gathering.
A February brunch.
And the night of the slap.
Some incidents ended without anything happening.
One note read:
No visible response. Try again.
That sentence disturbed me more than the payments.
Because it meant someone had been waiting for my anger.
Another line:
Need one clear public incident before conduct memo can move.
The date was ten days before the dinner.
Then investigators found a PowerPoint presentation on my mother's laptop.
Its title:
PATH TO CLEAN VOTE.
The first slides discussed the Crestline transaction.
The next slides discussed my behavior.
Then came a phrase that made my stomach turn:
Create neutral witness record of Everett escalation.
Then:
Use Delphine.
Then:
Return evenings. Family dinners. Public events.
Then:
Willa — leverage point.
I had to leave the room.
Jonah followed.
“Don't call her.”
“I wasn't.”
“You were thinking about it.”
“Yes.”
“Good. Keep thinking silently.”
I laughed bitterly.
The plan wasn't about physically attacking Willa.
It was about using her to provoke me.
That didn't make it harmless.
It made it deliberate.
Then we found the final dinner instruction.
Physical correction if defiant.
Payment:
$4,000.
Delphine's lawyer later admitted she had been paid.
She claimed the plan meant verbal provocation.
But the video showed something else.
Willa had not kicked her.
She had not hit her.
She had simply said:
“Daddy comes tonight.”
Delphine answered:
“He may not if he learns what a brat you are.”
Willa said:
“He always comes.”
Then the slap.
There was no ambiguity.
Delphine had chosen that.
But Mother had created the environment.
She had funded it.
She had timed it.
She had waited for me to walk through the door.
That was the moment I understood.

The goal wasn't to protect the family.
It was to create a version of me they could use against me.
