Richard's threat was no longer theoretical.
Police rescued him from a warehouse near the marina.
The kidnapper escaped.
Ethan still went to the old Bennett house.
Olivia tried to stop him.
“Sophie needs you alive.”
“I'll come back.”
“You can't promise that.”
“Then I'll make it true.”
The house was dark when Ethan entered.
Richard sat beside the fireplace.
Adrian stood nearby with a gun.
“You brought police.”
“You kidnapped a child.”
“I gave an instruction.”
“You stole from thousands of employees.”
Richard smiled.
“I protected the company.”
“You destroyed my family.”
“I protected your future.”
Adrian laughed.
“Still giving speeches.”
Then the alliance cracked.
Ethan told Adrian that Richard intended to blame him for Olivia's crash.
Richard called Adrian incompetent.
Adrian raised the gun.
For one terrifying second, Ethan saw his brother as a boy again.
A boy desperate for their father's approval.
The gun fired.
The bullet struck the wall.
Police stormed the room.
Adrian was arrested.
Richard followed.
Later, Adrian confessed.
He had hired Lucas Grant to follow Olivia's car.
He had expected a scare.
Not death.
Vanessa found Olivia alive after the crash.
Richard ordered Keller to take her.
Adrian admitted the paternity threat had been fake.
Sophie was Ethan's daughter.
The doubt had been another weapon.
The next morning, they opened Olivia's hidden grave box.
Inside:
Photographs.
Bank transfers.
Saint Catherine's records.
And a video.
Dr. Keller appeared on screen.
“If Olivia remembers, Richard wants the dosage increased.”
Then came Ethan's voice.
Olivia stared at him.
“I never said that.”
Marcus examined the audio.
“Someone edited your voice.”
“One person had access to almost every conversation Ethan made,” Ortiz said.
Ethan already knew.
His executive assistant.
Claire Dawson.
That morning, Claire walked into the hospital carrying balloons for Sophie.
