Chapter 13 - THE TRUTH ABOUT JULIANThe next morning, Adrian arrived.

He brought a file.

“There's something you need to see.”

Julian opened it.

His own medical records.

His father's private notes.

Psychological evaluations from childhood.

Julian looked up.

“What is this?”

“Your father believed you were being prepared.”

“For what?”

“To inherit Project Mercury.”

Julian's blood ran cold.

Adrian explained.

Elliot had intentionally kept Julian away from the criminal side of the empire.

But he had trained him to understand markets, leverage, negotiations, and psychological warfare.

Julian had spent his life believing his father's lessons were about business.

They weren't.

They were about survival.

Then came the worst revelation.

Julian had not been the first person Elliot chose as heir.

Jonathan had been.

When Jonathan refused, Elliot built the system around Julian.

And when Julian had Evie, Elliot changed the plan again.

Evie was meant to be the final heir.

Julian stared at the documents.

“My daughter was never supposed to inherit a fortune.”

“No.”

Adrian shook his head.

“She was supposed to inherit the evidence.”

Julian understood.

Every illegal transaction.

Every hidden account.

Every person involved.

The trust wasn't simply money.

It was a vault.

If Evie reached eighteen, everything would become public.

Vale couldn't allow that.

Julian closed the file.

“Then we expose it now.”

Adrian shook his head.

“If you do, thousands of people will be destroyed.”

“Criminals?”

“Some.”

“Who else?”

“People who never knew they were involved.”

Julian looked at Elena.

He understood the dilemma.

If he released everything, innocent families could suffer.

If he waited, Evie remained a target.

He needed another way.

Then Vivienne appeared.

She had escaped police custody.

Her face was bruised.

She walked into the room carrying a flash drive.

“I know how to destroy Vale.”

Julian stared.

“What did you do?”

“I married you.”

He frowned.

Vivienne placed the drive on the table.

“I spent three years inside his network.”

She looked at Evie.

“And I finally understand what I almost became.”

Julian took the drive.

May you like

“What is it?”

“Everything.”
