“You let me believe she had no mother.”
“I was protecting her.”
“You should have trusted me.”
“I was afraid you would be killed.”
Julian turned away.
Then Evie entered.
“Daddy?”

He knelt.
“I'm here.”
She looked at Elena.
“Is she my mommy?”
Julian looked at Elena.
Elena nodded through tears.
“Yes.”
Evie walked into her arms.
Julian watched.
The years of secrets finally ended.
But Vale's warning remained.
There was another file.
A file that could change everything.
Marcus found it that night.
It was hidden inside a dormant company.
The file contained one photograph.
Julian's father.
Richard Vale.
And a third man.
Julian stared.
He recognized him.
A man who had attended the board meeting.
A board member who had voted against Julian.
