Mia had completed her master’s degree in non-profit management and now officially served as the President of the Thomas Carter Community Foundation. Under her leadership, the foundation opened three new children’s clinics in underserved neighborhoods.
Dominic spent his days directing Vale Global Holdings, shifting its core portfolio entirely into renewable energy and affordable housing development. His reputation in the business world evolved from a mysterious figure of fear into one of the most respected philanthropists in the nation.
One crisp autumn afternoon, I walked into Dominic’s home office to present the annual reports.
Dominic was sitting at his desk, looking at a ultrasound photo framed on his mahogany shelf. He looked up at me, his eyes gleaming with pride and wonder.
"Mia's pregnant," Dominic shared, his voice filled with overwhelming awe. "It’s a boy."
I smiled broadly, stepping forward to shake his hand firmly. "Congratulations, Dominic! That is incredible news!"
