One afternoon, she sat beside Clara in the backyard.
“Do you remember your yellow car?”
Clara nodded.
“Want to race it?”
Clara smiled.
They pushed two toy cars across the grass.
For the first time, Clara laughed near the place where she had once been terrified.
Mark watched from the window.
He realized healing wasn't one dramatic moment.
It was hundreds of small moments.
A laugh.
A hug.
