Chapter 16 - The Federal ChambersThe chambers of Judge Harrison on the fifth floor of the federal courthouse smelled of old paper, polished mahogany, and decades of legal warfare.

Judge Harrison—a tall, imposing man in his late sixties with silver-rimmed glasses and a permanent scowl—sat behind a massive oak desk, reviewing the emergency petition.
Victoria Harrington and her new lead counsel, a high-priced corporate shark named Lawrence Vance (Marcus’s older, more ruthless brother), sat across the aisle. Victoria wore an immaculate white Chanel suit, her face painted with a triumphant, arrogant smirk that she didn't even try to hide.
"Your Honor," Lawrence Vance stood up, adjusting his tie with theatrical confidence. "The emergency injunction filed by Mrs. Harrington is airtight under Section 4 of the federal marital asset protection act. Harrington Global's current liquidity accounts are inextricably linked to disputed family assets. Allowing the CEO unilateral control at this juncture presents an immediate risk of asset dissipation."
Judge Harrison didn't look up immediately. He slowly lowered his glasses, turning his stern gaze toward Adrian, who stood with his hands casually folded behind his back, looking as immovable as a mountain.
"Mr. Harrington," the judge said dryly. "Your corporation is currently under federal investigation for asset mismanagement through Richard Sterling, and now your estranged sister-in-law is freezing your liquidity. Care to explain why I shouldn't uphold the injunction?"
Before Adrian could speak, Isabella stepped forward from behind his shoulder.
"With all due respect, Your Honor," Isabella’s voice rang out, clear, confident, and completely unafraid, "Section 4 of the marital asset protection act explicitly excludes corporate trust holdings governed by the 1924 foundational charter—a charter which was legally amended yesterday to vest exclusive operational control in the sitting CEO."
Lawrence Vance scoffed loudly, turning to glare at Isabella. "Who is this? A glorified secretary? An unregistered legal clerk has no standing to address this court—"
"Isabella Moore is my Chief Strategy Officer," Adrian interrupted smoothly, his voice dropping an octave colder. "And she has full legal authorization to speak on behalf of the Harrington Estate."

Victoria’s triumphant smirk vanished instantly. Her eyes bulged as she stared at Isabella, realizing that the housemaid she had tried to humiliate just days ago was now legally representing the multi-billion-dollar empire against her.
Judge Harrison stared at Isabella for a long, calculating moment. Then, slowly, a faint, approving glint appeared in his old eyes. He picked up his heavy mahogany gavel.
