Chapter 18 - The Rise of the QueenBy 1:00 PM, the executive floor of Harrington Tower was a hurricane of controlled chaos. Telephones were ringing, digital stock tickers flashed green as Harrington Global shares rebounded sharply following the lifting of the federal injunction, and senior managers hurried back and forth down the glass-walled corridors.

In the corner executive office, the atmosphere was entirely calm.

Isabella sat behind her custom walnut desk, her dual monitors displaying real-time liquidity flows, international shipping manifests, and board voting distributions.

The heavy oak door opened, and Adrian walked in holding two cups of black coffee. He set one down on her desk, leaning his hip against the edge.

"The stock closed up four point two percent by lunch," Adrian noted, taking a sip of his coffee. "The board members who were thinking of backing Victoria's coup have already sent me formal letters of apology."

Isabella took a sip of her coffee, looking up at him with a calm, steady smile. "They didn't apologize because they're sorry, Adrian. They apologized because they know who holds the keys now."

Adrian smiled—a genuine, warm expression that completely dissolved the cold, predatory armor he wore for the rest of the world. He reached across the desk, setting his coffee cup down, and extended his hand toward her.

"Come down to the grand ballroom with me tonight," Adrian said softly.

Isabella blinked, caught off guard. "The grand ballroom? Why? Another gala?"

"Not a gala," Adrian replied, his dark eyes locked onto hers with absolute intensity. "A reopening. A formal restructuring of the Harrington Estate. And this time, you aren't standing in the shadows behind the pillars, Isabella."

Isabella looked at his outstretched hand. She thought back to nineteen months ago—scrubbing floors, hiding from estate managers, terrified of the powerful family that ruled Boston from behind iron gates. Now, she wasn't just surviving in their world. She was reshaping it.

She slowly placed her hand in his. His grip was warm, strong, and unyielding.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world, Mr. Harrington," she said quietly.
