He wanted silence.
Ethan was the center of the trust.
Without him, the entire inheritance structure became complicated.
August drove toward his private airfield.
Lily studied the route.
“He'll stop at the Montigue estate.”
Victor looked at her.
“How do you know?”
Lily answered:
“He doesn't understand children.”
They surrounded the estate.
Inside, August struggled with the crying baby.
Ethan wouldn't stop.
Lily stepped forward.
“I can help.”
Victor grabbed her arm.
“No.”
She looked at him.
“Ethan knows my voice.”
Victor released her.
Lily entered.
She lowered herself slowly to the floor.
“It's okay, sweetheart.”
Ethan turned toward her.
His crying softened.
August looked confused.
For one second, he lowered his weapon.
That was enough.
Victor moved.
Quinn disarmed August.
Ethan was safe.
Victor took his son into his arms.
The boy immediately buried his face against his father's chest.
Victor closed his eyes.
He had almost lost him.
Again.
Then Quinn received one final call.
Serena wanted to testify.
But she had one condition.
She would only speak to Lily.
